THE PIG PEN

The moment we stepped through the doors of OddFish, we were enveloped in a warm atmosphere and greeted by friendly staff. The interior seamlessly blends modern rustic decor with a nautical theme, striking a balance between comfort and style. The soft music and perfect lighting created an inviting space, setting the stage for what turned out to be an incredible evening.
The setting was lively yet intimate, creating an ideal environment for everything from romantic dinners to casual meet-ups. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Their extensive knowledge of the menu greatly enhanced our experience, providing thoughtful recommendations that proved invaluable for us as newcomers.
OINK-CREDIBLE BITES
We began our meal with the Fife Souredough Bread and the Grilled Squid Salad, a dish recommended by our server. Initially, we felt a hint of hesitation about the fish-sauce-based dressing, which added a distinct Vietnamese twist. It was a little bit too pungent so we were lowkey afraid we made an incorrect choice. Yet, our concerns quickly melted away with the first bite.
The salad was refreshingly light, and the grilled squid was incredibly tender, practically dissolving in our mouths. The combination of fresh greens and vibrant colors made the dish nearly too beautiful to eat. One bite, and we were already eager for more.
For the main course, we opted for the Sole Piccata, which turned out to be one of the finest fish dishes I've ever tasted. It was so good, I almost licked the sauce off the plate. The sole was expertly cooked, featuring a crispy exterior that paired perfectly with a tangy caper sauce. Each forkful was a delight—and that side of Charred Kale and Hand-Cut Fries was no afterthought. The kale had a smoky richness, while the fries achieved that perfect balance of crispy outside and fluffy inside—making them a comfort food staple.

To complement our meal, we decided to explore the cocktail menu with two selections: the Rose Negroni and the Fall Fashioned. Both drinks showcased the bar's dedication to quality. The Rose Negroni was floral and refreshing, making it an ideal starter, while the Fall Fashioned radiated warmth, enriched by seasonal spices. According to the restaurant, their cocktails have a 90% customer satisfaction rate, which certainly rang true for us.

As we concluded our meal, we reflected on how the evening exceeded our expectations. The blend of fantastic food and excellent service makes OddFish stand out as a premier dining destination in Vancouver. We are already planning our return visit. With so many exciting dishes still to explore, we can’t wait to dive back into the menu.
PIGGY BANK SAVINGS
OddFish Restaurant in Vancouver may be on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth the splurge. While the menu items might seem a bit expensive at first, the generous portion sizes make it clear that you're getting good value for your money. Most entrees are large enough to share between two people, which makes it feel more like a great deal than a luxury splurge. The seafood is always fresh, and the high-quality ingredients used in each dish really stand out, making the higher price tag feel justified.
What truly sets it apart is their commitment to quality seafood. They don’t skimp on the good stuff — whether it's succulent octopus, tender fish, or perfectly prepared shellfish, every bite feels like a premium experience. While dining out in Vancouver can sometimes feel like you're paying for ambiance as much as the food, OddFish delivers on both fronts. If you're willing to pay a little extra for top-tier seafood and a satisfying meal, this is a place where you definitely get your money's worth.
Have you had the chance to dine here? If not, make plans to visit soon! The exceptional dishes, impressive cocktails, and inviting vibe make it a must-experience spot in Vancouver’s diverse food landscape.
Here's to many more delicious adventures at OddFish!
